I feel like, even today, how much of a difference would have someone else's Hall of Famer (Tom Izzo or Mark Few) would have made in Central Kentucky vs. Pitino being omnipresent, angry, and Elvis on the same turn and Calipari being omnipresent, present, and all time great.
They both contributed to the Least Harmless Final Four Game Ever. And, with 2013 being a Flagpole Remark and worsening Michigan's Burning National Championship Misfortune to Mythology, it has to be a hard crush when both rivals are not honorable and harder to crush if you couldn't back off.
Izzo always was and had been defensive for East Lansing, which still didn't stop almost bids to save the sport. Few wouldn't have constantly played the 8 to 1 to annoyance. (The 1 Year He Made it to the Final Four, his Zags lobbed one to North Carolina.)
And, there would have been no way Gonzaga's run would have gotten away down the road in a Stronger College Basketball. Stronger would have been the quest to 64 and having to have not just another reason to consolidate another round for Business Reasons.
Kentucky Basketball Shouldn't Have been left to Parlor in the same matter Evansville missed the NCAAs for 1 Generation Solid.
