Certainly, I feel like this is the Last Spring we have Missouri and Illinois be open in Men's Basketball in the Head Coaching Department. It is not a good look for either Missouri and Illinois, the States.
For Illinois, this is the 2nd Straight Head Coaching Firing after not having one end of season since the 1960s before 2012. Again, they will be disappointed in who they get because the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign can't just give good money to attract a "Name" Coach. And, to pad the issues beyond glorification, there aren't enough good Eastern Illinois Basketball Products who'd equal the Chicago Public League. Even though completion would be necessary, but, it is not coming together.
And, for Missouri, it is terse having to rag the 4th Head Coach This Decade and the 5th Since Norm Stewart. It is just as awful as the Knicks having to reinvent themselves into a corner. I'd long for Hearnes and Mizzou Arena to be Full Houses again. With Kim Anderson, they'd backed themselves into a corner because Missouri was more pungent of a hire in 2014 than it is this Spring when Frank Haith ducked to Tulsa to avoid the Storm Clouds of Miami dismissing him from Columbia.
I want to see the rare year where we have the Braggin' Rights Rematch, in the NCAA Tournament. And, like a lot of other programs waiting to hire their next mast, the truth is there'd be too many of them who'd wait on the same timeline.
