I feel like with Indiana Basketball, the only real caveat with their Next Head Men's Basketball Coach is to raise adults well, and I feel consistency was arrestingly lost under Crean. When it was going great, the freedom and the belief that they where going to raise the Banner next Midnight Madness felt tangible. But, when it was not going great, it was the scariest energy and not in a good way Indiana Hoosiers Basketball put out.
And, I feel other than nixing the uncomfortable ubitiquous "BIG" from the Assembly Hall Hardwood, I feel that amid other things, this would be time to take stock in the program. I'd doubt we'd have a great Illinois-Indiana worth assemblies in the Big Ten Heartland yet, and it all begins and ends with the right hire.
The right hire would make recruiting easier, which has not been easy for the longest time. The right hire would mean not dropping from the sky over Fort Wayne as much as playing to North Carolina level.
The problem with Steve Alford trying to be ubitiuqal to returning home is he is not Roy Williams. It would leave Southern California ANGRY and California's Pac 10 Athletic Departments would be a raging mess. It wouldn't be just about the jobs, but, instead, how he left them. And, we wouldn't need another summary on how a giant fell off, because we have a lot of them already. But, having a no one ever really was to blame Indiana would be a scarier image to everyone involved.
