I do not usually do a Whereabouts Post, for reasons, but, I'd wonder where would be the whereabouts of the Swamp Rat 300 so it would formally be a museum piece later? The Swamp Rat 300's Fame is it is the only "borrowed" car in the History of the Swamp Rats, and the year before, it almost became a Double-Single by the Now Late Gary Clapshaw.
"Big Daddy" Don Garlits wished the car would have been a museum piece for many reasons, and it later was reskinned as the Spirit of Las Vegas, its original paint and Gary Clapshaw wanted to have a Top Fuel Win to his credit more than anything in his Drag Racing Career.
The sad part is said Swamp Rat 300 was wrecked and torn for loss. I don't think having to rebuild the Swamp Rat 300 would necessarily be in the Cards, but, a replica Swamp Rat 300 1 to 1 would be better than nothing for antiquities reasons.
I don't think in Drag Racing History, we'd have a good record in Artifacts and Museum Pieces would be on the interest on the person. We wouldn't have the same interest in the Sesame Street Outlaws as the Characters and People that manufactured their own power, as the stories either are getting older or not without recrimination.
