Dissecting the Guy Lafleur Trade to the Canadiens

 I feel that the Guy Lafleur Trade was Great for Hockey and the Montreal Canadiens. It was not so great for the California Golden Seals.

There where whispers throughout Hockey that the Golden Seals had problems with the Next Bobby Orr, and their hand was forced. Guy Lafleur would not have lived as long or been as great had he been a Golden Seal.

The reality is that the Canadiens became the Best Team of the 1970's in North America, and that was a Lofty Mountaintop. The On Ice Finale of the California Golden Seals was 3 Months to the Day before the Bicentennial and the Finale of the Seals move to Cleveland to become the Barons was Bastille Day 1976.

The Golden Seals where not on Front Channel Television and they had more Owners than Playoff Victories.

The California Golden Seals would have been done a Lot Differently With Better Management

The California Golden Seals have not been On Ice since 3 Months to the Day before our Great Country's Bicentennial in 1976 and its last day in Office was 10 Days After that  aforementioned Bicentennial Day. But, that has not stopped the Golden Seals from being a Regular in the NHL and Pro Hockey Top 10 Merchandising Sales, even though that Mouse Trap was not really in effect when the Golden Seals Played.

I'd feel that I would start with having the Drug Culture that ran out of Control in Oakland which ruined the City and crippled it underpinned the Golden Seals. If I where to restart the Golden Seals, I would think that it would be almost impossible to get an Arena or Stadium Out of Oakland Currently because they do not have the Money to Keep the Athletics, much less build an Arena.

The identity of the Golden Seals would have to be San Francisco with the 1970's Lettering. If Hockey is For Everyone, we should at least put up an Everyone Expansion Team. The Chase Center has not had a Full Season, and that has not been just.

The fact of the matter is Only Madison Square Garden is in Business from the Seals Era and I'd think that Mystery Trophy from beating the Big, Bad Bruins was nowhere to be found when the Oakland Coliseum was demolished.

It would be interesting to see a San Francisco vs. San Jose Rivalry in the NHL, and we'd have only Los Angeles and New York for an Intercity or Interarea Rivalry. Having to be Modern Day Answers to the Ghost Franchise would not be a Small Feat, and in a later expansion or expansions, we'd need the Hockey Hall of Fame to be Interceptor of the Record Books.

I would think a Winter Classic in San Francisco would be grand, if not monumental in a later year.
