We have not had year or even years in National Hockey League Cities where we have a perfect Bermuda Triangle of Stanley Cup Finalists in a Short Period of Time. And, if we twisted the Arm of Originality, what if we had the Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota North Stars and the Quebec Nordiques be every Stanley Cup Final like 2 of their 3 Latter Days where on the Road map in the Late 1990's?
If it was not for Norm Green, The Collar, a Hot Temper that melted Minnesota's Ice and Compulsive Expansion JUST to save the North Stars by downing the North Stars and the Blackhawks Farm Systems and a similar deal in Quebec City where Eric Lindros stood them up and down, changing the whole landscape of the NHL for better and for worse.
The Red Wings would have been a Konstinov and Fetisov from being crippled away from keeping a Dynasty and the lament and the regret that later ensued, was the constant and often times, unsuccessful efforts to chase a Dynasty and Recreate the Russian 5 in an All American City. To think, if you where a Nordiques Loyalist, you would have had your own Starting 5 that could have brought the Stanley Cup home to the Eastern Most Market in the NHL, other than Boston.
Especially when the WCW arrived at the Colisee in 1997, that being the 1st Big Sports Event there since the Nordiques where taken for the Phone Line (Literally), that was already a contentious Sports Day when we knew Frank Gifford was on his Last Links with ABC Sports and Marv Albert would have had, for shame, 12 Years in Prison and the Sex Offender Registry vs. Being the Commissioner of the Kinda Family Culture.
We would have had this loop a few times, especially if Montreal was in the Stanley Cup nearly Every Year in the 1960's and 1970's and the Penguins where set to Set to Go TWICE in our Lifetime and we would have had a 2nd Row at the UC and the 18087 of Stanley Cup Banners make the Lore Forever.
I could see this in St. Louis wanting not just to be enabled to Gloria instead of just being 6 Games Under .500 In Stanley Cup Lore instead of being 0-12 in Stanley Cup Lore before that, having to quench the Montreal Canadiens and their 0-8 Hex for Hockey's Identity and the 3rd Player in all of this would be the Las Vegas Golden Knights, who are still salty the Russian Machine celebrated with the Stanley Cup on Video in Las Vegas, which would be dismissed as easily smug had it not been literally them chips being down.
And, the 2nd Paragraph that would have been tied to story time, would be when I got into Hockey History in Middle School, Coach Lembeck said he was in the Twin Cities coaching, the year after their 2nd Stanley Cup Appearance, when Norm Green wanted to move the North Stars and everyone was Pitchfork and Tiki Torch Mad.

What if We Played a LA Kings Gretzky for Quebec Nordiques Lindros Trade?
I feel as a Hockey Fan, how would we have gotten away with a Playground Trade for an LA Kings Era Wayne Gretzky for a disgruntled Quebec Nordiques Eric Lindros Holdout Trade, eliminating the Coin Flip that got a reverant Stanley Cup instead of a troubling Postseason Hex uglier than Pelle Lindbergh's Loss.
To shatter a troubling, alternate history disbelief, Lindros and the Tara, Jill Settle Rusk, at the time Jill Settle was the only holdouts in 1991-1992. Trades to end Holdouts would not be unprecedented, but, they are not couth to the recipient.
What it would have made at the time, Wayne Gretzky would have been a greater International Hero than that of even David Beckham later on, and the wilderness in Crossing Paths wouldn't have been as clubby and Denver would have been in line for an NHL Expansion vs. 2 Stanley Cups they'd fought through and then some.
The downside is the Los Angeles Kings would have someone wreck the limo on the Sunset Strip. It would have blown a Wildfire of a Sports Page in the Early 1990s in Southern California more worse for wear and then some.
This trade would have caused pain, regret, and recrimination, and not just the Ice Oilers not raising banners well into my Young Adult Years like Konstinov and Fetisov would have for the Red Wings the same matter had they not been crippled.
The "King's Ransom" that stunted future Ice King Development came right before the NHL Players Strike in 1994, and ruined an All Time Great Sports Night in Los Angeles. The Ice Kings 2 Stanley Cup Banners seem unrealized by now, and there would have been a lot of history changed up for better or worse.
