Not Happy to be in the Olympic Wilderness!

 Frankly, with the Wild being in a Decade Long Playoff Wilderness does not make me happy, like a Bad Sitcom just designed to be Bad. And, to make it worse, I am even less happy to be in the Olympic Wilderness like this Monopolizes my Summer Vacation instead of Mother's Day with Neal Broten or having Lou Nanne raise My Stanley Cup on Minnesota Ice.

I find it is a felony that the low bar the Wild keep icing over and over are No Enforcers, not even a True Life Fighter who'd enforce the Gordie Howe Hat Trick like the Declaration of Independence, and the Wild's Outreach does not extend to drafting local like the North Stars.

Sooner or later, the Wild will hit the 30 and focus is not one of their better tacks. I'd look at the Studs of the X like I was the Treasurer and my Cousin is the Financial Panther, but, I'd feel madder and madder than a Wet Hen about not having Playoff Successes in Des Moines or Iowa City.

I'd want the mystic year of My Team, the Iowa Wild, sweep Calder Cup Fever through the State like the Midnight Riders they are, instead of being partial and undone. Believe me, I'd hate to see a Season End Premature as much as the Next Fan.

And technically, it's Coralville and the Iowa Heartlanders have no Playoff Series and frankly, I am antsy. This is the 2nd Year of Major Pro Hockey in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City and I am not proud of missing the Playoffs.

The Olympic Motto is Win With Honor and Integrity and Compete With Honor and Integrity, and I feel Big Business has gotten in the way.

Minnesota's Worst Decade Still Affects their Sports!

 I'd pin the tail on the Horse why how Minnesota's Worst Decade still affects their Sports. If the Trade, which to a Minnesota Man and his Family, there is only one trade, the Herschel Walker Trade, did not happen, chances are that Buffalo would at least have a Couple Championships. It still is the gift that keeps on giving, and the gift at the time was the Fact Jerry Jones bought the Dallas Cowboys from America to make up for the Clint Murchison-Bum Bright Follies that wore out Texas and America.

The Most Recent Championship of any Minnesota Pro Sports Team was the Twins and the Tomorrow Night Season was not Phoned In. It was earned.  The North Stars seeing the Penguins win the Stanley Cup on their Ice and put a Dynasty on at their Expense later only made the Minnesota Man and his Family angrier.

And then, what happened next was Norm Green, who was the hero of the 1984 Ticket Drive to save the Twins forever, started to drop hints on where to move their Still Beloved and Still Dearly Missed Minnesota North Stars. Other than dropping a theory that Alan Eagleson had culpability that he'd be responsible for depriving us the Nordiques, North Stars, and Whalers and giving their Latter Days a Stanley Cup, this doesn't go over well with Minnesotans who still view the North Stars as more of "Their" Team than the Golden Gophers.

And then, you had the most emotionally charged Super Bowl in the history of Super Bowls in the Metrodome as some of the Major Indian Tribes wrote the beginning of the end of the Washington Redskins era, which was merely a scribe for years. The Twins where charging hard for a Back to Back in 1992, and Norm Green Sucks! became a staple in Minnesota Ice Hockey Rinks.

1993 had the North Stars last playing on NHL Ice, The Flood of 1993, The Green Bay Packers inundating their State like no one else did before or since, and having to save the Minnesota Timberwolves from being the 2nd Move of 1993 against the Twin Cities, along with Cheers closing, which KARE was one of the Bigger Cheers dials. Reality hurt like a Sieve and Nirvana changed the Family Friendly Aura of the Twin Cities irreversably.

The Baseball Strike not only nearly ended the Twins, nearly caused them to be relocated, and we would have never, ever gotten Target Field in the First Place. Bud Selig was only not only wanting to merely end the Twins and the lone affordable Pro Sports Family Entertainment Option in the State, but wanting to punish them instead for being bad.

Other than Kevin Garnett being a Galvanizer and a Lightning Rod for Minnesota Timberwolves and Basketball, the fact he was lightning in a jar was not lost to the more Academic Sports Fans. The Golden Gophers Football Team being well known as a true Bad Team was well known way beyond the Town Lines.

Losing Blaine Johnson while in the Winston Drag Racing Top Fuel Points Lead and having to hate Tony Schumacher for his Upset Run and Subsequent Rise was not mutually exclusive. It was fact. And, it'd skinned the Old Capital and their Winter Hex disproportionate when the Golden Gophers became the Best Non Hockey Team in State History and later pissed that away due to Academic Fraud and the University of Minnesota's Relationship with the Inner City has not recovered since.

Of the few things Gary Bettman has done right like Hardee's is having to keep his Word, Bond, and Obligation to the Twin Cities and Minnesota. Of the great days in Twin Cities Sports History, NHL Hockey Returning in 1997 had to be one of the Greater Days. There was no Tim Dwight for Hines Ward when everyone in Atlanta wanted Hines Ward to be the next Bulldog to Falcon switch, but,they got what hamstrung the Vikings from Championships:The Best Player Available.

That best player available was Randy Moss and only some unexplainable circumstances that still involves getting mad enabled the Falcons to the Road to All Time Greatness, in spite of having 2 No Phone In Victories over the Full Season End of the Montana-Young-Rice San Francisco 49ers era. The unavoidable was the Academic Fraud, which is literally all over town, and the Dallas Stars, the latter day version of the beloved North Stars, winning the Stanley Cup.

After all these years, everyone else has gotten a new thing, but, Auto Racing hasn't gotten anything new in the Twin Cities, especially when they should be Professionalism. The Philly Special happened in the Twin Cities and I'd feel rotten that it was a High School Play and not the Ministry of Defense or Wolverine Dawkins who was the hero. It would be 30 Years Since Tomorrow Night, and lot of their Sports Scene couldn't get out of their own way.

Minnesota Has Not Seemed to Leave Any Real Tangible Memories in the Wild Era

 I feel the bloom has come off the Rose for the Minnesota Wild and the most tangible memories of the Wild Era have been the 1st Game Back in 2000 where every one in the State of Hockey lost their collective minds and 2003 when they put up a deep run to an Unlikely Western Conference Finals.

At the doorstep of the Wild, in Des Moines, it doesn't do any favors that the Iowa Wild have been denied a Chance to Win a Calder Cup due to no fault of their own. And, that "no fault fault" due to the Pandemic doesn't do my State much favors and I am mad that Hockey Development is inhibited, if not delayed.

I wonder if the second that people start asking for Older Logos and Equipment because they are discontent with the Current Product is a Real Issue. I'd think if Sports Stores start selling North Star Items and not just out of curiosity, that is another story.

The most tangible Mountaintop of the North Stars Era was Mother's Day 1981 and the Series Clincher that sent them to the Stanley Cup Finals that Lou Nanne swears bitterly to this day that the Isles of Denial denied them left and right.  The Wild have not crushed the Favorite or even had the helm of the NHL Record Book, and I feel the failing that the Wild Brass have is an overkeeping of key people a bit too late.

Reconfiguring into the Central Division, I don't know if Winnipeg would catch hell for disrupting a Montreal Stanley Cup Run, and amid other things, the prohibitive ebbs and flows of the Central Division. I feel that there is a sense of neurotic that races through the Wild Base that still has not been outgrown past the Expansion Age of the Club.

I have been pushing for a North Stars Revival on this Blog, but, having to change identity is a tough subject and it would have to mean having to do more than 5 Year Merchandising.

Why Not the Canadiens vs. Wild at Target Field?

Since we have no Atlanta Team currently in the NHL, and it would be a time warp to see an Atlanta Flames vs. Minnesota North Stars Throwback Game like the 1970s, but, I would feel like wanting to see the marquee be the Montreal Canadiens vs. Minnesota Wild for reasons.

Namely, those reasons being as a Sports Fan, I'd get a kick out of a Canadiens vs. Wild Stanley Cup Finals where the Wild would win on Minnesota Ice. I would feel that the Canadiens do not get in Heavy Rotation in the Winter Classic, and it would be different to see a Non-Original 6 Non-Conference at the time of the Game be part and parcel of the Winter Classic.

In 364 Days, I would state a Canadiens vs. Wild Winter Classic would draw the most people in North America. I know that I roasted the crap out of the Dallas Winter Classic because of the fear of having to be accountable for any Weather Delays. I would say the 2020 Winter Classic would be the Pig Sty Classic because of the Claustrophobic State Fair of Texas Grounds and with the Michigan Stadium Winter Classic (2014), you could have gotten away with a Field Bowl of Seats and that would have doubled the attendance.

In honesty, the Penguins would only be bankable if Sidney Crosby is there. There still is a bad taste in the mouth of other Fan Bases regarding the Bruins enabling of "Gloria" and I would have kicked a Rangers Yankee Stadium Winter Classic had it came available,

I don't want to be critical just to be critical, but, there has been no West of Texas Winter Classics, No Canadian Winter Classics and I certainly do not want to see a Domed Classic before those two came about, and especially if we have not had a true West of the Mississippi Winter Classic.

Montreal would bring a lot more Worldwide Clout to the Classic, and Toronto having to be part of the Classic again would be a Coup.
