Where does the Mariners Start Tearing Down a Talented Team Again?

 The Seattle Mariners are rightfully due if they don't make the Playoffs in the Next Few Years or the Expansion Draft comes up again, it would tear up a Promising Core. The gelatin of Mariners History has gone around like someone was upset he wasn't a Career Cub, then it became a Defensive Team, then it became one of the Best Teams in Baseball, then it became Apathetic to the Encumberment of Expectation, then, it became as bad as its City, and then, Picked Up Great Draft Picks to weave the Energy back to Safeco.

The reality is the Mariners are starting to portray a Cubs Hex in a More Public Display of Execution. And, it would be the natural push for the Expansion Draft, to get the Montreal Expos back in Baseball and Buffalo to stay in Baseball, and then it would be Apathy, Anger, Bad Teams and Safeco would be 40 and outlive the SkyDome, which would be Grounded Sooner due to COVID-19, and the Love It or List It BOB when they'd get wise to Listing Her for Good.

The Mariners play to the Mean of the City and play to the Memes before the Memes where a Thing. The Mariners do not Punishingly Play to the Cameras and For the Cameras, nor do they Play With a City just to stay in a Different City. We'd replace Fenway and Wrigley long before the said, regularly scheduled, Permenantly Disrupted Playoff Hex would be broken as Ralph Wiggum would squeefully and gleefully bounce up and down on the Jello like it was a Trampoline.

There'd be no Field of Dreams before the Field of Dreams like in Norway or Carroll where the Summer Baseball Memories grow with the Corn and Babies and Children Grow like a Weed. It would be rounding home in Lisbon and wanting a Braves-Mariners World Series before the Carpet gets ripped out unceremoniously like the Kingdome.

Seattle Mariners Dorktown Lid: Missed Trades and the Road to the M's Leads through Eastern Iowa

I feel like I will start this Seattle Mariners Dorktown Lid with the missed trades by the Los Angeles Dodgers for Alex Rodriguez and Randy Johnson and had it not been the spirited hatred of the Yankees by Ken Griffey,Jr. , it would have pushed the Evil Empire into the 30's in Championships.

The story really takes a turn in not necessarily missing a Yankees- Dodgers World Series in the Music Video Era's Gory Outgrowth, but through Eastern Iowa. The Johan Santana trade that gift wrapped a Cedar Rapids Kernels Lineup that should have won the league and I am mad the last pennant year has been the Year I Was 9. Especially down the winding road of US Highway 30 that Clinton had their own Perfect Game just around the time of the Interleague Battery No Hitter and that stuck as their first No Hitter in Clinton since the Mid 1970's.

I do not think "Let's Be Twins" in the Mississippi Valley in Clinton or Burlington when Clinton has complained bitterly they haven't been supported since the Reds broke Camp and the Burlington counterparts always feed on White Sox or Cardinals as their base. I feel the turn in the Mariners Organization was when Clinton became Marlins and that life was anything but a charmed life in Clinton County.

Especially when I would write up a Regional Version of "Road to Perdition" and it not being a Snyder Cut, and that is draining in its own way. It causes consternation that King Felix was not Postseason King Felix and the trickery in all of it is Seattle and Montreal have never formally had a World Series Appearance in their Histories, while Spring Training Outposts in Miami and Tampa Bay have had World Series Appearances before the Mariners, and Randy Johnson went down as a Diamondback because of America's Series.

Seattle Mariners Dorktown Review: The Missing Years

I feel with Episode 5 of the Seattle Mariners Dorktown Review, of 6, the Missing Years would be defining, as missing a World Class World Series (Chicago White Sox vs. Montreal Expos), missing a Dream Atlanta Braves vs. Seattle Mariners World Series more than once, quenching Roger Maris's American League Home Run Record and the Jello Climb of 393 Wins without a Single World Series.

It would not have been the same story in the history of stories had it not been the Subway Series or even the America's Series, and I would feel had Ichiro been a Major Leaguer Sooner, he would have destroyed Pete Rose's Hit Record and Ken Griffey,Jr. being healthy would have made 756 as a Red.

That would have been a Cubs Like Hold on the Record Books that would have bordered on unhealthy, especially when we got it most any other way, no questions asked. The older historians where shocked George Sisler's Hit Record for a Year was Broken in the fashion it was broken and still is.

The 90 Win Infamy still means that the Montreal Expos have not won a Series, the Pittsburgh Pirates have not seen a Postseason Series since 1992, and the Seattle Mariners have big cratered and not done Postseason Things. You'd have to remember the story would come in bunches and those bunches would have included Roger Clemens rocketing out of control and losing his image, and we wouldn't have President Bush the same if it was the Mariners.

Not all of it is sweet, and the predicted Play Card was not anything Babe Ruth ever did. In Chapter 6, we'd get King Felix, which was gift and annoyance, especially when most of us wanted Postseason King Felix, which was unrealistic, and the 1st Interleague Unit No Hitter.

The Ocean Breaking Era of The Mariners Tells A Lot

I am writing up my Dorktown Report on Seattle Mariners History which cycles through the madcap last days of the Kingdome. 1996, when the M's where finally National Favorites for the 1st Time, they where Over .500 the whole year for the first time and they still had Randy Johnson get hurt costing them the playoffs and 1998, the last full season of the Kingdome, they'd cratered as a team even with both the Home Run Derby and National Favorite Status.

The infuriation in all of this is A-Rod was comfortably relatable, Edgar Martinez never really was brought up either way, because he didn't have to, the Big Unit being a nervous wreck as usual, and Ken Griffey,Jr.'s son Trey was stacked the deck with every Men's Sports Scholarship with the University of Arizona before settling on College Football.

Especially in my Middle School Years in Lisbon, where I'd expected the Mariners to be in the World Series, and the town was Cubs Territory where deep runs would be a blue moon (and still are).  I would think the inflicted, Cubs Styled Gaffes of Mariners Baseball have both been infuriating and uncomfortable, and Seattle would play like a Non-Peak Battle of the Boot Iowa City, when the civic boosters want gold, but come home empty.

The current reality, is the Mariners Fan Base would be Fat and Happy, except if the 2nd would be up for debate. Seattle has Real Deal Women's Sports Goddesses like it was Iowa City, and that would not be hyperbole or risking a collar or risking wishing Tom Brady would retire before slumming the Pewter.

I think the first time they lucked into the Top Pick, they lucked into it when it was a Great Year. The second time, the Dodgers and Southern California where ticked off and they where ticked off enough to force a Jell-O of a Trade up I-5 to try to get Randy Johnson when their whole luster went missing.

The Ocean Breaking Year (1998), kept a Yankee Record from being a Mariner Record and I am still bashing around things like they happened Saturday Night, only to avoid the dark.

The Battles for Seattle Changed The Continent For Better and For Worse

I feel like with SB Nations Chapter 3 of Seattle Mariners Baseball History, I would have gone off the handle for the Battles for Seattle in the 1990's that changed the continent for better and for worse starting with the Popular Culture earlier that decade.

I would have relished having an Atlanta-Seattle Interleague 2 Years Earlier, or 8 Years Earlier, but it would have taken the grandeur and the specialism of such a game out. I feel the raw guilt that such a series did not happen at the fact just as conversely, the Chicago White Sox won Home Field in 2000 only not to use it and the Chicago White Sox 5 Years Later had 3 Separate But Unrelated Glories, One in the Summer (August 1st) and 2 in that World Series, one to win at home and the other to unrail an unlikely pennant at the Infamous Crazy Train in now its 2nd Generation, and the Montreal Expos having the bruising indignity never to come back, have Washington steal their Image and Complain Bitterly at Surreal Pennants as their World Class has been long gone.

I would have liked to be told more about World Leaders anything but Warm Welcome in the Emerald City, the fact that during a World Series Game, it went to Extras in Olympia and the Olympia Dome to approve the current day T-Mobile Park, originally Safeco Field, and the maniac scenes that grew from 1996-2001, only falling in the same place they where before.

The Angels in the Outfield Done in Reverse has kept Cedar Rapids from Pennants

I feel like for as maddening and infuriating the Seattle Mariners National Rise came up, including being mad that the 3 Goalposts cost them a chance to play the Atlanta Braves, having to have their Safeco Field vote announced on National TV before Seattle Media got the final, and making Seattle Media upset, and leaving fans upset that 116 was on raw adrenaline.

Here in Cedar Rapids, the infuriating collapse that later saved the Mariners kept us from pennants, and that is including some of the most powerful teams in Cedar Rapids History. The Angels in the Outfield was carved up on some equally not so happy circumstances and unsecretly, Anaheim has had only one pennant, and that is off the back of my fair city.

In 44 Seasons, the Mariners have played and proven maddening highs and infuriating lows, even at times back to back, like a Magician. I feel the draw in this is SB Nation's Dorktown Series, which Episode 2 came out today in the last hour.

I want Seattle to win and win badly. The Expos have not had a Postseason Series since 1981 and the Nationals have had the nerve to steal their fabric, and the Pirates conversely have not have had a Postseason Series since 1992, in spite of infuriating flashes like Fires in the Sky. For all the characters that have populated Mariners History, even having people who where upset they where traded from the Cubs, or knew Sitcoms better than the Mariners, they have not pulled it together when it counted.

I feel like at home, we need to get out of the Peter Pan Phase. But, there is no other adults who are saying that like we need to get our heads out our rears before it is too late. I feel guilt we are capable of doing great, but, it all disappears or goes missing like quicksand and I don't think all these characters in my city or coming into my city did any favors, either.

Can the Seattle Mariners stay Ripe to Be Sold Another 5 Years?

It feels like the sale/non sale joke won't leave the Seattle Mariners alone. Especially in the dawning of the age of its 40th Birthday. I feel like the next reason Nintendo is trying to pick not being ripe to be sold is Pokemon, and their worlds are elastic like Ah-nold's Terminator.

Sadly, the classical art is ooey gooey and not sticking timelessly. But, I wonder if can the Mariners stay Ripe to Be Sold another 5 Years? Eventually, at some point, someone would have to buy the Mariners.

It is not healthy by any means to keep finding the Mariners are more for Sale than the Marlins. And, I expected 2 or 3 Playoff Berths out that program than darkness in the forest to no end.

It would take torrid and horrid conditions to have a Real Life "Pitch". As if anyone needed new reasons to have Prospects masquerade as Major Leaguers and needed new and improved reasons to win Season Tickets like an MVP, plus a hotheaded GM who can't and won't know when not to stay involved.

I think we'd have a buyer for the Mariners long before rerealignment and true expansion took route in this world.
