Dissecting the Guy Lafleur Trade to the Canadiens

I feel that the Guy Lafleur Trade was Great for Hockey and the Montreal Canadiens. It was not so great for the California Golden Seals.

There where whispers throughout Hockey that the Golden Seals had problems with the Next Bobby Orr, and their hand was forced. Guy Lafleur would not have lived as long or been as great had he been a Golden Seal.

The reality is that the Canadiens became the Best Team of the 1970's in North America, and that was a Lofty Mountaintop. The On Ice Finale of the California Golden Seals was 3 Months to the Day before the Bicentennial and the Finale of the Seals move to Cleveland to become the Barons was Bastille Day 1976.

The Golden Seals where not on Front Channel Television and they had more Owners than Playoff Victories.

Maya Angelou and the Montreal Canadiens

This is not a crossover post, because the Content of Character is Maya Angelou. I feel the Montreal Canadiens, for years, where strong drafters, especially when other teams didn't have any business playing the Players they Drafted.

I am thinking this is much ado with Logan Mailloux and Marc Bergevin and if Mailloux was a Wild, I would be beating the doors of the Hockey Hall of Fame wanting the North Stars back. Morally, I am glad that it never came to that.

I am thinking that Silver Stanley would come back to haunt the Canadiens like they already have 2 Names for their Hexes (Forum Hex, St. Catharine's Hex). I feel they are not really that good and Canadiens Fans are ramped up for Pearl Harbor Day and the Lightning coming to town and I feel the Lightning's Future Stanley Cups are Stunted through the Canadiens.

I would be waiting for Black or Minority Women to blow the lid on Mailloux and Bergevin, and that would be the Wuthering Heights that I would be happy to see. The Canadiens have never put a #1 Pick out there, and it would fall in their lap at some point.

Logan Mailloux is Going to Sink The Canadiens into a Stanley Cup Hex

On June 1st, My 36th Birthday, the Canadiens Sunk the Maple Leafs en route to making me believe they had a Silver Stanley Cup in the Bag. On June 24th, St. Catherine's Day, the Canadiens had their 1st Stanley Cup Final Clinch Since 1993, after 18 Other Franchises had a Stanley Cup Finals Appearance Since 1993. And, people where believing the Silver Stanley Cup was happening. They lost the Stanley Cup on July 7th. All Day July 21st, Montreal Media went Back and Forth over Carey Price was or wasn't a Kraken. That would have been damaging. 2 Days Late, July 23rd, they took a Late Round Flyer in Logan Mailloux.

And, this late round flyer is going to ground the Canadiens into a Stanley Cup Hex. Marc Bergevin  doubles down on Bad Judgment. His hiring in Montreal and his stay in Montreal has not been without degrees of consternation.

The problem is Mailloux's Behavior is going to get called out before he racks up decent stats. The Canadiens where lightyears ahead of every one else in NHL Drafting, especially when Punch Imlach wanted to Sock it to the Man over a Fake Draft Pick.

Logan Mailloux can not handle an Adult World Well, and when you where Under 18 and could not handle an Adult World well, that causes problems. The fact a fixture is causing serious problems would cause a Texas Standoff between the London Knights and the Montreal Canadiens on who has his rights.

Tampa Bay would be Hexed for Beating Montreal in the Stanley Cup Finals

Tampa Bay beating Montreal in the Stanley Cup Finals actually does the Lightning no favors for their 3rd in a Row, which would be the 1st Since the Isles of Denial. I'd think that the quality of a 3 in a Row or More would do no favors, especially if we had not had a Dynasty since the Early 1990's.

Montreal does not forget and beating Toronto in a Playoff Series would have came for naught. If I was a Montreal Fan, I would have every right to be angry. I wouldn't want a 3 In a Row, especially when a Lucky Break by Brett Hull iced one Edmonton Oilers 3 in a Row and The Trade iced another. The Penguins 3 in a Row was iced by Mario Lemieux nearly dying tomorrow, and the Red Wings 3 in a Row was ruined by Konstinov and Fetisov and the Penguins next 3 in a Row was iced by Las Vegas being an instant contender.

I feel this is Too Much of a Good Thing like the Student Section, and I'd be happier to pack up the Student Section and put it away. Not only that, in hindsight, we should have had the Montreal vs. Edmonton Series just to pick it up.

Even though it was not 18 Years between Back to Backs, but, this one was not Last Summer to the Next. Other than not denying Tampa Bay has a Strong Core, but, that would be effortlessly efficient.

Mother Nature Would Make Canadiens Fans Angry

I hate to poke the bear over a Long Season, but, I am thinking with Hurricane Elsa muting the Lightning's Potential Stanley Cup Run and the side effect is Mother Nature would make the Canadiens Fans Angrier.

Especially for all the heapings of anger thrown at Toronto like Chocolate Ice Cream and they earned that like D12, and I would think that for as much as Hockey and International Sports History has been sterned through Montreal, it would be a Bills Mafia Reflex.

What would the Lightning taking one off the Canadiens do, besides hex their future Stanley Cup Runs, is absolutely next to nothing other than making the Canadiens angrier and more dominant. I wouldn't necessarily care about what Montreal would do as a Minnesota Sports Fan, but, it would be a War of a Stanley Cup Finals getting a Stanley Cup out of Minnesota.

Why Not the Canadiens vs. Wild at Target Field?

Since we have no Atlanta Team currently in the NHL, and it would be a time warp to see an Atlanta Flames vs. Minnesota North Stars Throwback Game like the 1970s, but, I would feel like wanting to see the marquee be the Montreal Canadiens vs. Minnesota Wild for reasons.

Namely, those reasons being as a Sports Fan, I'd get a kick out of a Canadiens vs. Wild Stanley Cup Finals where the Wild would win on Minnesota Ice. I would feel that the Canadiens do not get in Heavy Rotation in the Winter Classic, and it would be different to see a Non-Original 6 Non-Conference at the time of the Game be part and parcel of the Winter Classic.

In 364 Days, I would state a Canadiens vs. Wild Winter Classic would draw the most people in North America. I know that I roasted the crap out of the Dallas Winter Classic because of the fear of having to be accountable for any Weather Delays. I would say the 2020 Winter Classic would be the Pig Sty Classic because of the Claustrophobic State Fair of Texas Grounds and with the Michigan Stadium Winter Classic (2014), you could have gotten away with a Field Bowl of Seats and that would have doubled the attendance.

In honesty, the Penguins would only be bankable if Sidney Crosby is there. There still is a bad taste in the mouth of other Fan Bases regarding the Bruins enabling of "Gloria" and I would have kicked a Rangers Yankee Stadium Winter Classic had it came available,

I don't want to be critical just to be critical, but, there has been no West of Texas Winter Classics, No Canadian Winter Classics and I certainly do not want to see a Domed Classic before those two came about, and especially if we have not had a true West of the Mississippi Winter Classic.

Montreal would bring a lot more Worldwide Clout to the Classic, and Toronto having to be part of the Classic again would be a Coup.

Why Not Focus on a Full On Tear Down/Rebuild of BOTH Montreal Forum and Maple Leaf Gardens?

I feel like wanting to at least challenge the gears of infrastructure, and what no better way would we have in a Full On Tear Down/Rebuild of BOTH Montreal Forum and Maple Leaf Gardens? I'd feel there'd have to be period/year specificness in Stanley Cup Banners, Retired Numbers in English and French and other key luminaries.

And, I feel from an Olympic Concern, having to have NBA Expansion in Montreal and I feel the Molson Centre (Original Name) is not winning returns and the Air Canada Center (Original Name) is just as off, too.

And, I feel there has to be Arena Football League considerations, later, even though it'd be both the Queen, and being Hyperlocal at the same time. And, I'd love nothing sweeter than Toronto's Arena Football League turf to be Boise State Blue or Plumber's Blue.

And, I think it'd be the riskiest gamble to keep the AHL in both Montreal and Toronto Propers without having to be dislocated or worse in Pro Hockey Future. And, I feel there has to be tangible return/expense report that is healthy, or to backchannel their modern counterparts.

I feel like here goes nothing, but, I sense it would take 1 Year to Tear Down, a Second to Build and 3rd to Open

On My Moon: Milestones pay the Bills Better than Touchstones

I feel if everyone was asking todays Crosby,Stills, Nash, Simon, Garfunkel, and Sneva over the Beatles or AJ Foyt like some of these problem pros, we'd be much better off. I feel that, even though not new, we have scars on my moon.

I mean, if you hire a man who can't be good at a Sports Bar and I am not just talking about the Montreal Canadiens getting a 31-0 Screaming Drumming from the Las Vegas Golden Knights, your company has issues. And, I feel no one on Earth, or my Solar System, should bet on a sexually violent predator being on the lam or locked up.

If I was machine, I'd have to know what mechanics to go to. But, 2nd Tragedies are Repellers, not redeemers and our legs are not that long to be in business that long. I feel why is it on this Earth Social Media Internet has the worst types of people cash out.

I doubt Mr. McFarland will have the perks of the other things of business, like trying to have a 2nd Generation, and we'd find the Father of Mine Tests in due time, and DMX and Ja Rule can't win their tax beats.

I doubt I'd love my Hall of Famers retire for real like we really needed a crosssection of stable moneymaking, which we do, and it'd be harder to rally before Gen-X over Nas.

Would trading "The Kid" to the Canadiens be that bad or good?

Last Summer, with the Montreal Canadiens trading PK Subban south the Nashville in their worst offseason trade since Chris Chelios in 1990, it decayed the Canadiens ability to contend. For Nashville, it was getting a Gretzky for a Gretzky.

But, I wonder if the Homestanding Canadiens really pulled off a Gretzky Equilizer? First of all, other than Guy Lafleur, they haven't pulled off a trade that they really won from. And, you'd be getting a player who'd be 29, not 19, 39,49 or 59.

We'd have to nudge a Cold War Breaking Icebreaker into actual sports trades, not decisions. If transferring was the only way out of Dwight Howard or going pro enough where the Los Angeles Rams got you sight unseen for a half a year on College Campus, that adds nothing and shortens the bonds.

To make matters worse, I think it would break and break badly on Pittsburgh and its Sports Culture. With No NBA or other Pro Basketball, it would make Western Pennsylvania's Winters Siberianly Angry. And, it would hurt the Pittsburgers Across America's Purchasing Power as Pittsburgh in the present sense is no bigger than St. Louis and worse and such a trade or inevitable "I Told You So" Move would have crashed negatively, or as negative as had the Penguins melted their lead against the Sharks last Summer.

Even though these moves would be inevitable one way or another, their being welcomed is a different and bad story all around.
