I'd like to wonder what if Stewart Haas and Gibbs both held firm on Clint Bowyer and Erik Jones? Clint Bowyer would finally get his Full Length Original Day Win and Erik Jones and Daniel Suarez would become a Cup Stars and Christopher Bell would be at Spire after Spire paid the last of their loans and became Toyota and Cole Custer was one of 3 Truck Series 10 Winners with Todd Gilliand and Hailie Deegan as Matt Crafton got freed up from Cleveland.
If we restarted the Driver of the Year with 3 XFinity 10 Winners and 3 Truck 10 Winners, everyone would be going off the wall. Imagine that.
What is nuttier is having to get Knoxville and Williams Grove with Road America and Montreal in the Truck Series. I feel when the Work Day is Done, would it still be time for the Silver Truck 250 at Phoenix?
There are too many things I can't control, and I feel like this could be another jump the gun on key decisions, like never really getting to see Furniture Row circle the drains, among other things. It would be more consequential to see another link to the Signature Stewart Haas 14 than the Gibbs 20, which is not the signature car of that organization.
