I feel with Casinomania still taking Cedar Rapids to the point that the only way my city get a casino is if we hard-upped and destitute like it was Atlantic City. And, the reality I feel with so much Westernisms that get thrown out there, why not return the favor and have Far Eastern Design take on a new lead further East?
Granted, a Cedar Rapids Chinatown would backfill the Northwest Side and Ellis Boulevard. I feel for the impending future, the race to build new and safe, or at least have safe places for people to stay and play, not just throw the same old shenanigans around like bad checks.
We don't know how to recover from losing the Mom and Pop Businesses that where entrenched in our culture locally and nationally and I hate to be just as bad as Riverside in Identity Crisis because we have no Racing or Fort Smith in the lawlessness. I hate to see Fort Worth be as Strange and Nasty as Fort Smith again and that made everyone news before.
Granted, being the city that preserves buildings until theres nothing left or worse, no money to be left, but, I wish we where not as wildly resistant for new ideas and what is cavalier and tragic is we throw ourselves into remaking the Wild Westdale from Almost Nothing and I hate to see it be back to Indiana Firebirds status and no one be troubled to save it.
