Mississippi State's Self Esteem right now would be garbage. To go from Dan "Don't Stop Believin' " Mullen being a bad play from SEC and National Championships, to Scott Stricklin pulling legal maneuvers to change the content of the School Forever, to someone wild and inconsistent wanting to leave, and was a bad glove from the start.
Greg Schiano reunion would get the Eastern Shore, but, the debacle with Randy Edsall's UConn Reunion would spoil that. And, Bret Bielema would alienate and misguess, because that is his history, Paul Johnson still is burnt out and Tony Elliott would be a Home Run Hire against Clemson.
The reality is, Rutgers would be needing a 2070 Hire. They can't fix their way out of a Contract, they can't just fix their way into an experiment, and if 2024 Came and they realized every kind of season did not include success, then I could accept that.
But, given the time and the marriages of inconvenience Rutgers have pulled out, and convenience doesn't just happen for nothing, there is not any 50 Year Committment anywhere in New York City and New Jersey. I'd want to see Rutgers have as big and long of a Net as Iowa and Wisconsin, if not longer.
