I feel for as much Peoria has been a responsible steward and a Home Game for the IHSA in their March Madness, I'd feel better if March Madness's True Home became the Assemblies Hall, which I mean Assemblies because I don't want to see a Corporate Name Again Plastered on Assembly Hall again.
The University of Illinois is not the Parent Team like the University of Texas or the University of Wisconsin is the Parent Team for Texas or Wisconsin's High Schools. There has to be an expensive EIRI here about having to Superstate both Football and Basketball in an already broken state.
March Madness doesn't necessarily exude Warm, Vibrant Feelings as a State Championship Billing, but, I'd do feel Carver Arena's Replacement would be for a Future Promotion of a Peoria Rivermen, Peoria Pirates, Professional Basketball or having to nudge Bradley out of the Braves.
I don't know what it do later, but, it would help Danville dial up Indianapolis 500 interest again on the roadmap. Contrary to popular belief, there still is a big Detroit Interest in Eastern Illinois.
It would help give Illinois a permenant Post-Illini Athletic Nickname (Big Orange, Giant Orange), that would not be happy to nix in 5 Years.
