The scary thought is Mount Vernon's Solon Hex in Iowa High School Football is approaching its 20's. But, if Mount Vernon's Solon Hex turned 25, would we make it literature?
There is a Perverse and Angering Feeling as an Eastern Iowa Sports Fan you'd see Mount Vernon everywhere but the UNI-Dome, and that irritates and frustrates the Trophy Case. If Mount Vernon's Solon Hex saw a Quarter Century, would we run a better chance at having Quagmire for President than seeing Mount Vernon get squeezed into an Odessa High?
The fact is that having to collect hexes around Cedar Rapids is a Bad, Bad Problem. It would be a High School Story no one wants a Part Of and Instead, there'd be too many times either it would come down to Hypercompetitiveness or Peacing Out.
