Since John Desko is clearing out his Desk-o, for all intents and purposes, Gary Gait Replacing John Desko as Syracuse Orange Lacrosse Head Coach is Rearranging the Chairs on the Titanic. I was right to say Chase Scanlan was a Huguely in Disguise because the 22 is the Second Most Non-Negotiable Number on the Syracuse Campus besides 44.
If the 44 came back tomorrow, which was an uneasy truce between Jim Brown and Syracuse, hopefully, it doesn't come back to a Road Map of Women Problems from Sea to Shining Sea. What Syracuse is doing is making sports look bad and this move was to avoid a long, drawn out termination process.
Syracuse is not well known for knowing when to say when. Getting burnt on National TV when it mattered, even after the team had to throw a Huguely Protest, is not good. Lacrosse in Syracuse is taken as seriously if not more seriously as Ice Hockey in the Twin Cities.
If Huguely was a Minority or Poorer, or Both, he'd be the Death Penalty as opposed to being Paroled to the Sex Offender Registry later. Scanlan caused problems at Loyola and was not well known for telling the truth.
Even Girls got in the act of blowing the Lid on Syracuse and out of all the ghosts at the Dome, including the 1st Country Concert on Campus, it haunts Syracuse. I'd give it 3 to 5 Years for Gait having a Quality Team, and if they are undisciplined as in Off Hours, Stealing Cars and Women Problems, I would throw my money to hook a New Head Coach.
