The haunting of the Toronto Maple Leafs just won't quit, from Plane Crashes, to International Mysteries and Lores that where So Weird before So Weird, and being the last Original Six Era Facility to be in business because Madison Square Garden's Current Iteration came the Subsequent Fall.
What Alan Eagleson caused to the point of unforgiveness was how much different would we have had a Whalers, North Stars and Nordiques in their 50th Year or More rather than in memory? It is not just a Toronto Issue or a Grand Theft Auto Issue in the Greater Toronto Area even now.
The Summit Series was a National Tragedy and a National and International Shame to many of Canadians even now and that was a part of the reason that Canada couldn't bring home the Gold for 50 Years in the Olympics. A lot of the Canadians where not Boy Scouts necessarily, but, compared to the Soviets, they where cleaner cut compared to the harder living Soviets.
Where the fact Toronto is getting crucified and burnt at the stake worse than ever is Drake and Justin Bieber's Pervasive Womanizing. Toronto currently is monopolizing Pop Culture and not letting anyone else have it. This is dangerous and Toronto is Openly and Loudly Mocked and Not Just the Maple Leafs for not only losing to the Canadiens and Montreal, but blowing it to the Canadiens and Montreal.
The Whalers, North Stars, and Nordiques Injustices and Slights where Preventable in Hindsight. What it does is the Maple Leafs are more burnt worse than the Sabres, who haven't made the Playoffs in a Decade, and that is not good.
The Maple Leafs have not won a Playoff Series in 17 Years, and there are no missing planes this time. I'd feel instead, it is full on incompetence and the Maple Leafs committing to Back to the Future Contracts when instead of Draft Picks, it was Cosplays who impersonate the Maple Leafs.
To think of it this way, Eagleson was only Giving Away Money and Ballard was Baylor before Baylor. The fact of the matter is the Maple Leafs will have to have a Fire Sale before the Expansion Draft, because it is not the Florida Hockey Panthers, it is the Montreal Canadiens, the International Powerhouse of Professional Sports and racing to catch hell over defeating Montreal just to Win Your Stanley Cup is not worth it.
