I wonder what would happen if we had another World Hockey Association? Would the chaos cause having to have a Pyramid System in Professional Hockey, and not the God Awful Ballard Maple Leafs?
What it would do is force NHL Expansion, and the NHL could not just absorb those teams like the WHA. It would be shown in contracts and they would do the opposite of what the NHL does. We'd focus on markets that would not already have Major Minor League Markets and would we have another nightmare like the Chicago Cougars again?
Sadly, the whole league would look like the California Golden Seals, and that is a problem. We don't have a Movie to Memorialize it in "Semi-Pro" as would people's relationship with the Team, Sport and Sports in General would be stunted by not making a Goal.
If the Players had to raise their own money to keep a team from folding, that would make it harder to trade. And, World Hockey Association Players where not paid as much as Today's NHL Players are, and it makes it harder to just jump on the Bus.
