The Atlantic Coast Conference will have problems without Roy Williams and Coach K. I doubt the only thing with freeing up the Big XII would be helping is not having the Potential of a Duke vs. NC State Conference Championship, which Duke has never won the ACC Championship Game and NC State has never been in the ACC Championship Game.
What I would see in the Atlantic Coast Conference is a Conference spread too thin. I would want Championship Catholics vs. Convicts in Charlotte so much it would be a drain to the Mid Atlantic Membership to the Conference.
What would happen if the ACC broke up later this decade is Notre Dame would be part of the Big Ten, the fact we would get Pitt-Penn State back, we'd have to settle where Beamerball and Virginia are along with Maryland, in the next round of Conference Realignment.
We'd have the Carolina 9 who'd tie the line between South Carolina, the ACC Members, and the MEAC Members of the Carolinas and I'd think Georgia Tech and Florida State would join the SEC after South Carolina, Missouri, Texas, Texas A and M, Arkansas and Oklahoma to restore the 5-1-2 Again and Bethune Cookman, Florida A and M and Miami would be part of the Florida 8 and South Alabama would be the 8.
I feel that we will have another round of Realignment and trust me, it will happen in 4 Years. It needs to stick and having to merge the FBS and the FCS Divisions into 1 Division I would be necessary and in South Alabama's Stead, we'd have West Florida joining from Division II to Division I somewhere along that line.
