I feel for the College Football Playoffs, or better yet, the NCAA Basketball Tournament, largely to weed out the bureaucracy there, what would having a Bonus Home Game Do? If we went from 4 to 8, that would at least lend Bonus Home Games just to lend the thrill of the aria of playing on your grounds one last or one last times.
I'd believe it wouldn't necessarily benefit those that would already benefit, but, it would take a miracle to just have to keep Conference Standings honest and transparent. The reality would be Miami (OH) wouldn't even had gone far had it been in front of them if it was 8, and if it was 12, we'd referendumize the National Wild Card like our excesses didn't matter.
The reality is most of our excesses would have retired or called it a day years ago and I doubt everyone would be comfortable going through the boot room later. Yelling "Rosebud" for Miami (OH) without the Red Hawks being a tangible upset candidate in Pasadena wouldn't have added things, and it would be harder to do the Rose Bowl Parade without the Game.
I don't think jobbers or actors would add a penny on the job. Nor, the only thing they'd take is pensions to inundate those who'd really need them and their families would be livid to all get out. It would be easy to merchandise, but, a lot of things would get in the way that aren't always good.
